ARTICLE 1

The  SCO Sainte Marguerite of Marseille will organize the 33th international Classique Marseille-Cassis race on October 30th, 2011

ARTICLE 2

The distance of 20,308km has been officialy measured under the  Fédération Française d’Athlétisme supervision.

ARTICLE 3

Civil liability : In accordance with current legislation, the organisers signed  a civil liability insurance policy with the  MAÏF of Niort N°.1806984 H. This contract insures against damages caused by members of the organisation and all competitors participating to this race. However, it is deeply advised to the  non licensed competitors to sign an individual accident insurance policy with their own insurance company.

ARTICLE 4

The organizing Committee is allowed to cancel the event in case of  force majeure (bad weather...)

ARTICLE 5

The race is open to competitors licensed or non licensed born in 1993 and before. The age categories will be given a seperate classification..

ARTICLE 6

Registration is definitive. There will be no possible refund for any reasons.                        

ARTICLE 7

The race is open to handisports. Wheelchairs must be equiped with a break system to get registered. The helmet is compulsory. Handibikes, considered as bycicles are not allowed. 

ARTICLE 8

As specified in the art.s 231-2 and 231-3 of the Sport Code, licensed runners must provide their current license attesting that a medical certificate with no contraindication for running in competition has been issued.  Non licensed runners must also provide this medical  certificate or its photocopy, dated less than 1 year and valid until October 30th, 2011.

Consequently, race numbers shall only be collected upon presentation of an ID card and: either the medical certificate of no contraindication for running in competition (the organiser will keep the medical certificate), or the valid licence (2011/2012 season) from the FFA or from an accepted sport organisation for running in competition.

ARTICLE 9

It is expressly mentioned that athletes compete under their own and exclusive responsability. Giving his race number to a third party is strictly forbidden. Any athlete retroceding his race number to a third party will be held responsible in case of an accident arising or provoked by this third party during the competition. The organiser is exempt from all responsibility in case of an accident in this type of situation. The representative for the registration of a group must inform the participants of the contents of  the rules of the race, the ban on transfer of the number. He may, in case of an accident, be held responsible. It is strictly forbidden to run without a number. Every offender may engage his responsibility and the organiser will be released of any responsability  in case of an accident arising or provoked by this third party.

ARTICLE 10

Race numbers will be collected on presentation of an ID card, confirmation of registration and  medical certificate of no contraindication for running in competition. ( the organiser will keep the medical certificate) or on presentation of the sports licence. Race numbers cannot be mailed, and cannot be collected on the day of the race.

ARTICLE 11

The number must be fully legible during the race. If not,  the athlete can be disqualified

ARTICLE 12

The road safety is under control of the police department and the Gendarmerie. The medical service is provided by the DDSIS, the Civil protection and the Battalion of the Fire brigades. Any doctor of the organization can decide to stop a competitor at any time for medical reasons

ARTICLE 13

The athletes will have a strict 1h30 time-limit to reach the Gineste pass and a 3 hours time-limit to complete the race. After the passage of “end of race”  vehicle, the athletes will not be eligible for the classification and will have to respect the traffic code.

ARTICLE 14

Bicycles, wheel engines motorized or not, are strictly forbidden. Pacing an athlete is forbidden. Race judges may diqualify athletes who are paced on the race route.

ARTICLE 15

An electronic system will be used for the timing.

ARTICLE 16

The jury is under the authority of a FFA judge, which power of decision will tolerate no possible appeal

ARTICLE 17

Each registered athlete authorises the organisation together with its entitled party, such as partners and media to use fixed or moving images taken of him/her during the International Classic Marseille-Cassis, on any kind of support, including the promotional andor advertising documents, all over the world for the entire duration of the protection period currently awarded by legislative or regulatory bodies, court decisions and/or arbitrages in any country

ARTICLE 18

All athletes acknowledge and accept all the clauses of the rules. They agree on honor, not to anticipate the start and to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line.
